Is Heaven for Me?
Yes! Absolutely yes!
Now the next question that must be asked is, who is everybody? The Bible in 2 Peter 3:9 says that God is NOT willing that any should perish. Romans 10:6-13 speaks of all mankind having the opportunity to enter heaven through confession of the mouth as a result of belief in the heart. When calling upon the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, one shall be saved.
Entrance into heaven is never based upon human good, but is simply a gift of God’s Grace, disqualifying any human or religious effort, as a consideration (Ephesians 2:8-9). The Bible indicates that all have sinned and come short of the Glory of God (Romans 3:23). This might make it seem impossible to get into heaven, without some meritorious act or attempt to please God.
Jesus himself reveals to us the good news in John 3:16!
“For God so loved the world, that he GAVE his only begotten Son, that WHOSOEVER believeth on him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”
God took affirmative action, sending his son Jesus as our only means of rescue from sin, which would have caused us to end up in hell if not properly dealt with.
Jesus sacrificial death on the Cross has eternally satisfied the justice of God, releasing His mercy against the penalty of sin. In Hebrews 9:14; 10:10,14 Jesus Christ the Sinless God-Man alone has been provided as the Way, the Truth, The life to get to the Father in Heaven (John 14:6).
This ultimate sacrifice by Jesus Christ on the Cross progressively unfolded throughout the history of mankind, revealed by many examples in the Old Testament and fulfilled in the New. Now this leaves us with this most important question to be answered by each one of us.
What will we do with the Son? now that he has paid the penalty in full for our sin? Will you receive Jesus by faith and wholly accept what He has done for you, trusting His Holy Spirit to enable you to live this new eternal life. If so please say this simple prayer, believing in your heart what God has said is absolutely settled. (Numbers 13:19, 20; Malachi 3:6).
“Dear Jesus, I know I am a sinner. I receive you as my personal Savior. Thank you for loving me so much that you died for me so I can have eternal life with you. Amen”
